San Ramon welcomed a new Hindu place of worship with the Maha Kumbhabhishekam, or formal dedication, of the Sri Karpaga Ganapathi Temple, held on November 10, 2025. The ceremony was preceded by four days of preparatory pujas and prayers, and was attended by Satguru Bodhinatha Veylanswami and Sannyasin Yoginathaswami from Kauai Aadhenam. The small Ganesha temple was founded by Sivasri Suresh Viswanathan Sivacharyar, and the chief priest for the consecration was Sivasri Swaminatha Sivacharyar, who traveled from Mayiladuthurai in Tamil Nadu. City Center Bishop Ranch is set to host its 15th annual Holi celebration on Sunday, April 12, from 2 to 4 p.m. at 2700 Camino Ramon, near the corner of Camino Ramon and Bishop Drive. The event will feature the beloved tradition of throwing colorful dyes along with live music, dhol drummers, dancing, henna, selfie stations, food trucks, and performances. Holi, known as the Hindu Festival of Colors, commemorates the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil, and is celebrated by Hindus around the world.
