Desi.Net (“we”, “our”) runs hyperlocal Desi lifestyle directories and news. This explains what we collect and how we use it, in plain language. It’s informational, not legal advice.

What we collect

• Nothing that identifies you, by default. You can browse the whole site without an account.
• Anonymous, cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) — aggregate page views and performance only, with no cross-site tracking and no advertising cookies.
• Your email and account info — if you create an account (we use passwordless email sign-in links) or claim/manage a business listing, we store your email and which businesses you manage.
• Newsletter sign-ups — only if you opt in (double opt-in), and only to send the digest you asked for. Unsubscribe anytime.
• Messages you send us — e.g., to list, advertise, claim, or contact us; we keep them to reply.
• Purchases — if you buy a paid listing or ad, our payment processor handles your billing details (see “Payments” below).

Cookies

We set one first-party cookie, and only when you log in, to keep you signed in. That’s it — no advertising, cross-site, or third-party tracking cookies, and our analytics are cookieless.

How we use it

Only to operate and improve the site, run your account and any listings you manage, send what you opted into, and respond to your messages. We do not sell or share your personal information.

Payments

Paid plans (Business Premium, promoted events, ads) are sold and processed by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, under their own privacy policy. They handle your billing details; we receive your name, email, and what you bought — never your full card number.

Business listings & data sources

Directory information is compiled from public and openly-licensed sources (such as OpenStreetMap, Wikidata, and public registries) with attribution, plus owner submissions. Own a listing and want it corrected or removed? Email us and we’ll handle it.

AI-generated content

Many articles are written by our disclosed AI news desk from verified sources and reviewed before publishing — see each article’s byline. Details can change and AI summaries may contain errors; please confirm important details directly, and tell us if you spot a mistake.

Your choices & rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, remove a business listing, or unsubscribe — just email support@desi.net and we’ll take care of it. We don’t sell or share your personal information with anyone for their own marketing.

Third-party links

We link to external sites (official pages, original sources). Their privacy practices are their own.
