Train 11901, the Veerangana Lakshmibai Jhansi-Agra Cantt Express, has been temporarily extended beyond its usual Agra Cantt terminus to operate all the way to Mathura, the birthplace of Lord Krishna and the focal point of Janmashtami celebrations across the Braj region. The extended service departs Jhansi at 4 pm, reaches Agra Cantt at 9:40 pm, and continues on to Mathura at 11:25 pm. On return journeys, the train departs Mathura at 4:30 am on designated dates. The railway division also added extra capacity on the Mathura-Gwalior segment to ensure pilgrims coming from the southern direction have ample connectivity to the festival city.
