A new Indian restaurant named Amrut is set to open at Brambleton Corner Plaza, at the intersection of Northstar Boulevard and Evergreen Mills Road in Ashburn. The space was initially earmarked for a third Biryani Grill location — The Burn first reported on the plan in October 2024 — but the owners of the Biryani Grill chain reconsidered. They determined that placing a third location in close proximity to existing outposts in South Riding and Ashburn did not make strategic sense, and decided instead to debut a separate concept: Amrut. The restaurant is designed as two distinct dining experiences under one roof, spanning approximately 5,700 square feet in total. The full-service side will accommodate around 130 diners and will offer a full bar alongside a dedicated menu featuring dishes such as Bang Bang Gobi, Baby Corn Pepper Fry, Gun Powder Prawns, Naga Chicken Wings, Mughlai Chicken Curry, and Nihari Lamb Shanks. That menu is distinct from existing Biryani Grill offerings, positioning Amrut as a premium alternative within the same ownership group's portfolio. The eatery occupies the space that previously housed the store's in-house deli, which dates to the building's earlier life as a Bloom supermarket before Lotte Plaza Market took over. According to in-store signage, Desi Spot's menu centers on momo-style dumplings along with a selection of South Asian street food and snacks, with samosas specifically listed among the offerings.
