India Supplies 19 Custom LHB Passenger Coaches to Bangladesh Railway

New Delhi – The Rail Coach Factory in Kapurthala has handed over its first rake of 19 LHB (Linke‑Hofmann‑Busch) broad‑gauge passenger coaches to Bangladesh Railway. The coaches, built to specifications requested by the Bangladeshi side, are part of a broader effort to modernise the cross‑border rail link between the two neighbours.
The delivery marks a tangible step in the ongoing transport partnership that aims to boost passenger comfort, safety and speed on routes connecting major cities in India and Bangladesh. LHB coaches are known for their lighter weight, higher speed potential and improved ride quality, features that are expected to enhance the travel experience for commuters and tourists alike.
For the South‑Asian diaspora, the upgrade signals deeper economic and cultural ties between the two countries, potentially easing family visits and trade journeys across the border. As the first of what could be a larger fleet, these coaches set a precedent for future collaborations in rail infrastructure, signalling a shared commitment to regional connectivity and development.
