India Urges Global Focus on Secure, Affordable Energy at G20 Meeting in US

New Delhi – On Thursday, Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs Manohar Lal headed India’s delegation at the G20 Energy Abundance Ministerial Meeting in the United States. In his remarks, the minister called on member nations to prioritise the delivery of energy that is secure, affordable and reliable – a triad he says is essential for sustainable growth.

India’s push comes as the country seeks to balance rapid industrialisation with the need to keep electricity costs low for households and enterprises. For the South‑Asian diaspora, many of whom invest in or depend on Indian businesses, stable and reasonably priced power is a key factor in the viability of projects ranging from tech startups to traditional manufacturing.
