Faridabad: Studds Accessories Launches Rs 160 Crore Helmet Facility as Crimes Involving Children Shock the City

Faridabad's industrial momentum continued with helmet manufacturer Studds Accessories poised to begin commercial production at its automated Facility-V, adding 1.5 million units of annual capacity at a total investment of Rs 160 crore. The industrial news was overshadowed by two distressing incidents involving children: a minor killed his 13-year-old friend during an altercation in Ballabhgarh, with a case registered against the accused and his parents, and a three-year-old girl fell into a borewell in Seehi village, prompting emergency rescue operations.
🏢 Studds Accessories to Begin Production at Faridabad's New Automated Facility-V by Late October 2026
Studds Accessories, one of India's leading two-wheeler helmet manufacturers, was on track to begin commercial production at its fifth manufacturing plant, Facility-V, in Faridabad, Haryana, by late October 2026, according to Sahi Markets. The Phase-I expansion at the new automated facility would add 1.5 million units of annual production capacity for helmets and boxes, representing a critical milestone toward the company's long-term goal of scaling total installed capacity to 12.5 million units. The total capital expenditure committed for Facility-V was approximately Rs 160 crore, with a strong emphasis on automation and high-output production technology. The company's existing four Faridabad facilities together carried a combined annual capacity of 9.04 million units, meaning the Facility-V addition would bring total capacity to approximately 11 million units in its initial phase. Studds had been running near full utilisation across its existing plants, with historical capacity utilisation hovering close to 94 percent. The company was also in the process of receiving the Occupation Certificate for the new facility, a required regulatory step before production could formally begin. The expansion was expected to help Studds better serve growing domestic demand for helmets and improve execution timelines for institutional and export orders, helping the company capture a stronger share of the premium helmet segment. Minor Kills 13-Year-Old Friend in Ballabhgarh Altercation, Case Filed Against Accused and Parents
A thirteen-year-old child was killed by a fellow minor following an altercation in Ballabhgarh, Faridabad, on a Sunday evening, according to ETV Bharat, which published the report on October 5, 2026. The incident took place while the children were playing together when the dispute turned fatal. The case drew significant attention for the extreme outcome of what appears to have begun as a conflict during a routine play situation. Faridabad police registered a case against the accused minor and also against his parents following the killing. The inclusion of the parents in the case suggested that authorities were examining the role of the minor's guardians in the context of the incident, as is common in cases involving juvenile accused under Indian law. The police station handling the case was identified as the Sector 58 police station in Faridabad. Ballabhgarh is an industrialised and densely populated area within Faridabad district where rapid urbanisation has brought large populations into close proximity. The death of a teenager in what began as a childhood altercation sparked wider reflection on the social environment and supervision of children in rapidly urbanising parts of Haryana's National Capital Region towns. The prompt registration of a case indicated swift action by local police. [1]
Three-Year-Old Girl Falls into Borewell in Faridabad's Seehi Village, Rescue Operations Launched
A three-year-old girl fell into a borewell in Seehi village in Faridabad, Haryana, prompting an emergency rescue operation, according to ANI, which reported the incident on September 27, 2026. Borewell accidents involving young children are a recurring and deeply distressing category of emergency across rural and semi-urban India, as uncovered or inadequately sealed borewells present lethal hazards to toddlers and young children who may wander close to them. Rescue operations in such cases typically involve National Disaster Response Force personnel, district administration officials and specialised earth-moving equipment to carefully excavate parallel shafts alongside the borewell without causing further risk to the trapped child. Seehi village falls within Faridabad district, which despite its predominantly urban and industrial character also contains rural settlements where infrastructure hazards such as open borewells remain a persistent problem. The age of the victim, at just three years old, and the inherently harrowing nature of borewell rescues ensured the incident attracted immediate public attention and concern. ANI reported that rescue operations were actively underway at the time of publication. Outcomes in such rescues depend critically on the depth and diameter of the borewell, the condition of the trapped child and the speed and effectiveness of the emergency response mounted by local teams.
