Swiss biotech firm and Rajasthan university team up for $3 M CAR‑T cancer‑care hub

Immuna Therapeutics AG, a Swiss biotech company based near Basel, and NIMS University Rajasthan in Jaipur have launched a US$3 million partnership aimed at delivering affordable CAR‑T cell therapy to Indian patients. The initiative was unveiled at the World Health Summit in Berlin.
Under the agreement, the two parties will work together to create a Rajasthan Centre of Excellence that will handle the clinical delivery, research and training for CAR‑T treatments – a cutting‑edge form of immunotherapy that engineers a patient’s own immune cells to target tumours. NIMS University will allocate roughly US$2 million toward the centre’s infrastructure, clinical operations and patient‑care services, while Immuna will provide the remaining resources and technical expertise needed to adapt the therapy for local conditions.
For the South‑Asian diaspora, the collaboration signals a significant step toward bringing world‑class cancer treatments closer to home, potentially reducing the need for patients to travel abroad for advanced care. It also opens opportunities for Indian clinicians and scientists to gain hands‑on experience with a technology that is reshaping oncology worldwide.
