🌯 Kati Roll Company to Open Its First New Jersey Home in Journal Square

The Kati Roll Company, a fast-casual Indian street food restaurant that was founded in 2002 in Manhattan's Greenwich Village by Payal Saha, is set to open its first New Jersey location on July 1 in Jersey City's Journal Square neighborhood at 924 Bergen Ave. The spot will serve the restaurant's signature kati rolls — a Kolkata street-food staple of chargrilled fillings wrapped in fresh roti or paratha — alongside rice bowls, salad bowls, mango lassi, masala chai, and organic potato chips. The new location, housed in a former Popeye's, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and can seat between 25 and 30 guests. The Jersey City outpost joins four existing New York City locations, two in Texas, and two in London, with further New Jersey expansion planned for Hoboken, Metuchen, and New Brunswick before year's end.
