Lotus Indian Fusion, a popular Indochinese restaurant on Long Island, has returned to Hicksville more than three years after a devastating fire forced its closure. The original location shut down in 2022 after discarded Fourth of July fireworks sparked a dumpster fire that burned part of the building. Owner Shivan Sondhi, who operates the business alongside his mother Rosy and brother Sunny, found a new location on the same street as the original. "When I stand outside I can see my old location," Sondhi told Newsday. Lotus first opened in 2016 and became known for its Indochinese menu featuring dishes such as chili chicken, crimson garlic chicken, black flame chicken, drums of heaven, and an off-menu Apollo fish.
