The restored 16,000-square-foot space will become part of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, with programming to be provided by the National Park Service. The temple was developed by John Wesley Dobbs, whose grandson Maynard Jackson Jr. went on to become Atlanta's first Black mayor and the first Black mayor of a major Southern city.
