🏛️ Georgia-Pacific Funds Restoration of Prince Hall Masonic Temple on Auburn Avenue
Georgia-Pacific has provided funding and in-kind support to restore the historic Prince Hall Masonic Temple and Lodge on Auburn Avenue, a building constructed between 1937 and 1941 that is deeply woven into Atlanta's civil rights heritage. The restored 16,000-square-foot space will become part of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, with programming to be provided by the National Park Service. The temple was developed by John Wesley Dobbs, whose grandson Maynard Jackson Jr. went on to become Atlanta's first Black mayor and the first Black mayor of a major Southern city. The project was carried out through Georgia-Pacific's partnership with the Trust for Public Land. [3]
