The Dallas community pauses to honor one of its own, a man whose decades of public service and deep commitment to family left a lasting mark on the city he called home.
🕊️ Dallas Loses a Dedicated Public Servant and Veteran
Desi Arnaz Lindsay Lee Tanner, born in Chicago on November 19, 1952, passed away on January 28, 2026, and is being remembered with deep affection by those who knew him in Dallas. After serving in the Illinois Army National Guard and later with the Texas Army National Guard, he received an honorable discharge at the rank of staff sergeant. He built a life in Dallas, working for the City of Dallas library system before transitioning to the Dallas Marshal's office, where he rose through several roles including Deputy Marshal and Senior Deputy Marshal, also serving a year as Interim Chief before retiring in 2009. His faith, his marriage, and his years of dedicated civic service leave behind a meaningful legacy in the city he loved. Services are being handled by Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. [2]
