BJP’s Nitin Nabin to Head ‘Save Democracy’ Walk in Rohtak Ahead of Opposition Rally

New Delhi, Oct 31 – The Bharatiya Janata Party announced that its national president, Nitin Nabin, will lead a padyatra (foot march) in Rohtak, Haryana, on Sunday. The march forms part of the BJP’s nationwide campaign titled “Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hataye” – translated as “Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy.”
The event is positioned as a direct response to a rally planned by the opposition INDIA bloc for November 1, also in Rohtak. By staging the march a day earlier, the BJP aims to rally its supporters, project a narrative of defending democratic institutions, and counter the opposition’s outreach in the region.
Rohtak, a key constituency in the politically sensitive state of Haryana, often witnesses intense campaigning ahead of state and national elections. The BJP’s decision to send a senior leader underscores the party’s focus on consolidating its base in the area.
For the South‑Asian diaspora, the development highlights the continuing polarization in Indian politics and the ways in which national parties mobilise grassroots actions to shape public perception ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
