Punjab Congress Leaders Gather at Delhi’s Indira Bhawan

On Saturday, October 31, senior figures from the Punjab wing of the Indian National Congress convened at Indira Bhawan in New Delhi. The meeting was attended by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and opposition stalwart Rahul Gandhi, alongside a delegation of state‑level party officials.

The gathering, described by organizers as a “strategic consultative session,” focused on reviewing the party’s organisational strength in Punjab and aligning its approach ahead of forthcoming electoral contests. While the agenda was not disclosed in detail, the presence of the party’s top leadership signals an emphasis on consolidating support in a state that has historically been a political battleground.

For the Punjabi diaspora, many of whom maintain close ties to their homeland and closely monitor political developments, the meeting underscores the Congress’s intent to revitalize its foothold in the region. Observers will be looking for any policy cues or campaign directions that emerge from this closed‑door discussion, which could shape the narrative for Punjabi voters both in India and abroad.
