Haji Biryani is one of Dhaka's oldest restaurants, established in 1939 in the Nazira Bazar area of Old Dhaka and now in its third generation of family management. The restaurant is known for its chevon biryani — seasoned rice with goat meat and a blend of spices including saffron, cardamom, and cinnamon — served alongside borhani, a salted mint yogurt drink. The recipe has remained unchanged since founding.
