Dhaka – On Thursday, Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, an adviser to Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairman and former Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, publicly denounced a virtual media address delivered by former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from India. Alal complained that the speech, which was streamed to Bangladeshi audiences, was inappropriate given the political climate at home.

In his remarks, Alal also took aim at Hasina’s son, accusing him of drawing an unfavourable comparison between Bangladesh and Pakistan. He described the analogy as “irresponsible” and warned that such rhetoric could inflame public sentiment.
