Faridabad Teacher Stabbed to Death by Stalker Inside School, Woman Suffers Burns in Forced-Marriage Attack
Two harrowing acts of violence against women have shaken Faridabad this August: a schoolteacher was stabbed more than 20 times inside her classroom by a stalker she had previously filed a harassment complaint against, and a young woman was allegedly attacked with boiling water by her step-parents after she refused to be married off for three lakh rupees. Both cases have drawn attention to women's safety and the dangers of stalking and coerced marriage in Haryana.
Teacher Sandhya Stabbed 20+ Times Inside Faridabad School by Harassment Accused Amit
A 30-year-old schoolteacher named Sandhya was stabbed to death inside a private school in Sikrauna village, Faridabad, Haryana, on a Monday morning in August 2026, by a 21-year-old man named Amit from Kot village who had been harassing her for two years. The attack was captured on video and took place between 9:30 and 9:40 am. Amit arrived at the school premises, asked staff members where the teacher could be found, then waited for her. According to police, as soon as Sandhya emerged from her classroom, Amit dragged her out and stabbed her more than 20 times in the face, neck, and chest. Even after she collapsed, the accused continued to stab her. Inspector Kewal Singh, Station House Officer at Faridabad's Sector-58 police station, said: 'As soon as the teacher came out, the assailant dragged her and stabbed her multiple times after pulling out a knife.' School administrator Tejpal ran to intervene but was threatened with the knife and forced to back away. The attacker then fled on a motorcycle with no number plate that was parked outside the school. According to a preliminary investigation, Amit had been a student at a private school in Sandhya's village about two years earlier and had become obsessed with her, repeatedly following her despite her refusal to interact with him. The victim had filed a molestation complaint against Amit just a few days before the attack, but he had publicly apologised at that time. Police believe the murder was carried out in retaliation for that complaint. Faridabad Woman Suffers 50% Burns After Step-Parents Allegedly Pour Boiling Water to Force Marriage
A 23-year-old woman named Preeti, originally from Bihar and living in Faridabad, was allegedly attacked with boiling water while asleep, suffering burns across 50 percent of her body including her chest, hands, and lower body, after she repeatedly refused to be married to an elderly man. According to the victim, her step-parents — Dharmendra and Lalita, neighbours with whom she had been staying after separating from her husband Rohit about two months earlier — had allegedly arranged to sell her into a marriage for three lakh rupees. When she refused, the attack followed. The victim told police: 'I was sold for ₹3 lakh. When I repeatedly refused, boiling water was poured on my private parts, due to which I suffered 50 percent burns, even my chest and hands were severely scalded.' After the attack, the accused step-parents refused to allow her to seek medical treatment, locking her in a room and confiscating her mobile phone to prevent her from calling for help. A girl from the neighbourhood eventually became aware of the situation and informed the victim's maternal uncle, who came to the scene with police. Preeti was first taken to BK Hospital in Faridabad for treatment, but the severity of her burns required referral to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. Police opened an investigation based on her statement. Preeti had previously been married to Rohit, a resident of Qureshpur who works at a private company, but the marriage ended after repeated arguments approximately two months before the incident.
