🏫 Voices Call for State Regulation of Private Pre-School Fees
A demand has emerged in Nagpur for the Maharashtra state government to step in and regulate the annual fees charged by private pre-schools, amid concerns that unchecked fee hikes are burdening families with young children. The call highlights a gap in existing educational regulation, as pre-school institutions currently operate outside the fee oversight frameworks that apply to higher levels of schooling. Advocates argue that state intervention is necessary to ensure that early childhood education remains accessible and affordable across income groups. The issue resonates strongly with Nagpur families, where the proliferation of private nurseries and play schools has been accompanied by significant variation in fee structures. [7]
