A 25-year-old online delivery worker from Bihar, Raviraj, died after a Chinese manjha kite string severed his neck while he was riding his motorcycle on National Highway 9 in Ghaziabad. Raviraj, a native of Khagaria district in Bihar, had been living on rent in Bahlampur, Noida Sector-63. On a Saturday evening at around 6 p.m., he set out with his friend Naresh intending to travel from Noida to Ghazipur in Delhi. As the two entered NH-9 from Noida's Sector-43 junction, the synthetic kite string caught Raviraj's throat near the Kaushambi police station area. The manjha was so sharp that it cut through the bone of his neck, causing his head to hang loose, and blood spread across the highway. Despite wearing a helmet at the time of the incident, the throat injury proved fatal. Naresh, who was seated behind Raviraj on the motorcycle, managed to bring the bike under control and called for help from bystanders. Passersby came to assist and tied a towel around Raviraj's throat to contain the bleeding while waiting for emergency services.
