A disturbing incident of alleged sexual assault within the premises of a government-run residential school near Hyderabad has prompted a police case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. When the parents approached school authorities with their concerns, officials did little to address the matter, prompting one of the fathers to file a complaint directly with the Dundigal Police Station. A case was subsequently registered under the relevant sections of the POCSO Act, and the Dundigal Police took the three alleged perpetrators, who are themselves minors and are designated children in conflict with law, into custody.
