New Delhi – Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth returned to India on September 18 after a three‑day official mission to Russia. The visit, centred on discussions about capability development and training exchanges, marked the latest step in deepening army‑to‑army cooperation between the two nations.

During his stay in Moscow, General Seth met senior Russian defence officials and toured key military establishments. Both sides reviewed ongoing projects, explored joint exercises and identified opportunities for sharing expertise in areas such as logistics, communications and battlefield technology. The talks also included arrangements for future officer‑exchange programmes, aimed at familiarising Indian personnel with Russian operational doctrines and vice‑versa.

For the South‑Asian diaspora, the trip underscores India’s strategic pivot toward diversifying its defence partnerships beyond traditional allies.
