Knox Library’s Hindi Diwas Brings Poetry, Books and Community Together

On 13 September, Knox Library hosted a vibrant Hindi Diwas celebration that highlighted the language’s literary heritage and its role in community life. Under the stewardship of Dr Subhash Sharma, the event featured the launch of a new Hindi title, a series of poetry recitations, and a special acknowledgment of individuals who have contributed to the preservation and promotion of Hindi.

The program welcomed participants of all ages—from curious children listening to verses to seasoned Hindi enthusiasts sharing their favourite works. Families and local leaders gathered in the library’s communal space, creating a lively atmosphere of cultural pride and inter‑generational exchange.

Beyond the performances, the ceremony recognised dedicated service to the language, underscoring the importance of community volunteers in keeping Hindi literature accessible to diaspora audiences.
