The project includes 10.206 km of new 220 kV double-circuit transmission line from Talegaon Ambi Substation to Urse, 11.558 km of multi-circuit line from Urse to the Chinchwad-Urse line, and the conversion of approximately 19 km of existing single-circuit lines to multi-circuit configuration. Three new substations are integral to the scheme. At Balewadi, MTC approved Rs 175.46 crore for a 220/33 kV substation serving Baner, Balewadi, and Aundh — neighbourhoods where annual load growth exceeds 13 per cent — equipped with 2x50 MVA transformers and Gas Insulated Switchgear bays. A Rs 127 crore, 220/22 kV substation at Loni Kalbhor will cater to the proposed 80 MVA connected load of the Riverview City township. A Rs 98.30 crore substation at Chinchvihire in Ahilyanagar will relieve the overloaded 132 kV Rahuri Substation.
