Desi Arnaz Lindsay Lee Tanner, born in Chicago on November 19, 1952, passed away on January 28, 2026, and is being remembered at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. After graduating from Jean Baptiste Du Sable High School in Chicago, he went on to serve in the Illinois Army National Guard and later extended his commitment with the Texas Army National Guard, eventually earning an honorable discharge at the rank of staff sergeant with multiple awards. His life in Dallas was one of continued public service — he worked within the Dallas Library system, later joined the Dallas Marshal's office, and rose through the ranks from Public Service Officer to Senior Deputy Marshal before retiring in 2009. He is remembered by his wife Stephanie and his faith community at the church that became central to his later years. [2]
