🛕 SVCC Temple Burglarized in Early-Morning Break-In
Surveillance footage captured three individuals forcing their way into the SVCC Hindu Temple in Fremont in the early hours of a Tuesday morning, with the thieves spending several minutes attempting to break into a metal safe using a power tool. Cash offerings made by devotees to the deities — estimated at around $2,000 or possibly more — were taken from approximately seven collection points. The temple's priest and manager noted this was not the first burglary the site had suffered, though it was the most serious to date. A volunteer expressed deep distress, explaining that the stolen donations are used each week to purchase fresh flowers, fruits, garlands and other items for religious ceremonies. A police report has been filed, and community members are calling on the public to be aware of the vulnerability of houses of worship. [1]
