East India Carpets was a Vancouver retailer of handmade carpets and rugs imported from weaving centres around the world, founded by Jab Sidhoo in 1948 and carried on by his family and staff. After more than 75 years the West 2nd Avenue showroom has closed: remaining stock inventory was sent to Coast Consignment, and custom rug inquiries are referred to Supermarket Studio. The business continues to provide rug underlay and under-pad services, with underlay custom cut to size.
